COVID-19 Response: Food Provision to those most vulnerable and in need

A Message from the team;

It saddens us at this time that we cannot host people at the Night Shelter and our cafés; however we would like all those that are missing our presence in the town to know that we are very much still here and accessible to those of you that need assistance.  We are busy here making fresh food parcels from the charitable and donated surplus we are receiving from our supporters daily.  We are committed to continuing to serve those families and individuals who would ordinarily be sharing a meal with us at this time!

If you or someone you know needs support at this time we are operating a referral process and would love to be of service to you.

Eligibility Criteria

  •  Known to Swindon Night Shelter and/or partner agency (i.e. local council, supported housing scheme or local church) and;
  •  Vulnerably housed with a strong likelihood the person(s) are or will be experiencing poverty now or in the near future.
Referral forms have been distributed to local churches, Swindon Borough Council Navigators, Social Care professionals and Swindon Food Collective.

If you have any questions you can contact us at admin@swindonnightshelter.org.uk

Thank you for this assistance; since March 2020 we have been able to provide 945 food parcels to people in need across the Swindon area. We continue to provide parcels if people are referred by support agencies and meals when our Day Centre is open. (Limited numbers due to COVID 19 restrictions). Thank you for this support.

Sharing the Abundance of God's Love and Provision

If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with  you. Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you.
